[tab name="How to Grow"]
How to grow me
The allium is happy to grow in most soil types but will prefer a well drained spot* in full to part sun. They should be planted 2 to 3 times as deep as the height of the bulb for longevity and stability (10- 15 cm is recommended), with spacing between bulbs a similar width. Planting in groups of odd numbers helps to showcase the elegance and individuality of these Chelsea Flower Show favourite. If planting in windy outlooks they may require some support due to the height they can achieve.
*Drainage in the form of horticultural potting grit can be added to the soil directly under your bulbs to ensure the roots do not sit in water and rot away. Clay soil that retains water may need improvement for successful flowering.
**Growing spring bulbs in pots means they are less protected from frost damage. Severe frosts can cause a failure in flowering, protection should be provided in open environments!
